The Sunshine Child Program

Dedicated in July 1913, MOOSEHEART cares for youth, whose families are unable, for a wide variety of reasons, to provide optimal opportunities for their success.  Some have lost one or both parents; others are living in environments that are simply not conducive to healthy growth and development. Mooseheart provides children with a wholesome home-like environment and the best possible training and education.

Each one of the children at Mooseheart has been blessed with sponsors from our great fraternity.  Lodges and Chapters, State Associations, Council of Higher Degrees, other Moose affiliated groups, and even individuals are encouraged to “adopt” a Mooseheart Student under the Sunshine Child Program. 

The members that support the children at Mooseheart not only give birthday and holiday gifts, transportation, school supplies, and provide other daily needs, but they also build long lasting relationships by sending students encouraging notes, emails and sometimes even visiting them.  Our Moose Members try to create a sense of family not only while they are in our care at Mooseheart, but even beyond graduation.
